Houghton Lodge Wedding Photography | Rebecca & Alan

bride and groom walk hand-in-hand through the walled garden at houghton lodge in hampshire. the bride wears a v-neck, lace gown and the groom a blue three-piece suit. As the walk, they look loving at each other in late afternoon sunshine

Like many of my couples, Rebecca & Alan contacted me thanks to a recommendation from a previous bride (thanks Jenna :-)), and I jumped at the chance to be part of their Houghton Lodge wedding. Close to the town of Stockbridge and on the banks of the River Test (famous amongst fly fishers the world over), the house and gardens make a truly beautiful setting for a wedding.

The couple married in St Peter’s, Winchester before driving the short distance to Houghton in a stunning 1950’s Austin Sheerline A-125 wedding car. Guests enjoyed canapés in the gardens before making their way across the immaculate lawns to a traditional marquee by the river. After the wedding breakfast and speeches, came dancing with music from the cool-as-you-like Brass Funkeys band. Seriously, check out their website and YouTube channel for a flavour of the evening. As dusk came, a stillness fell over the river and you could see the trout leaping for flies, drawing to a close a wonderful trip to Hampshire.

If you’re planning your own wedding at Houghton Lodge, why not drop me a line. I’d love to be part of your plans and have the opportunity to return to this beautiful part of the country.
