I thoroughly enjoyed capturing wedding photography for Charlotte and Pete’s RAF wedding at Bruisyard Hall.  They chose Bruisyard Country Estate in Saxmundham as the setting for their wedding and, in spite of some wind, the sun shone all day.  

Being a locally based Suffolk wedding photographer, I’m really lucky to photograph weddings at Bruisyard Country Estate on a regular basis. I’m always struck by the warm welcome every guest receives and the sheer beauty of the location.  On the day, I was there early to catch up with Charlotte who was getting ready in the Sir John Rous room, one Bruisyard Hall’s beautiful period bedrooms.  She was in the very capable hands of Karen (hair stylist) and Victoria (make up), who I’ve seen at many, many weddings over the years and are always a pleasure to work alongside. Charlotte shared some lovely moments with her three bridesmaids (I loved the distinctive bottle green dresses with crochet lace detail), and the moment a bride sees her Dad before the wedding is always something special. 

Documentary Wedding Photography at Bruisyard Hall

One advantage of photographing a wedding at Bruisyard is the ease of covering both bride and groom’s preparations. Pete and the chaps were just downstairs so it was easy to catch some images of him being gently teased by his colleagues over the quality of his shoe polishing and grooming standards.

The ceremony was held in Bruisyard’s 17th century barn -  a timber framed building has been lovingly restored and makes the perfect setting for a traditional barn wedding in Suffolk.  With wooden beams crisscrossing the high ceiling and original brickwork, the barn lends to the sense of occasion. Charlotte was escorted down the aisle by her father, the ceremony was beautiful and included live musical accompaniment.  I must also mention Charlotte and Pete’s gorgeous baby son Oliver who got to see Mum & Dad get married.

A stunning military wedding in Suffolk.  Congratulations to Charlotte and Pete for getting married and creating a beautiful day for yourselves, and your family and friends to remember.   I hope my images will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
