Cat & Alex’s Early spring Suffolk Barn wedding

Mid February saw my first visit of the year to Easton Grange to photograph Cat & Alex’s wedding. Anyone who’s visited my website before will know I’m a regular visitor to Easton Grange at all times of year and in all weather conditions, from blazing summer heat to windy, winter rain. At last count I’d shot 35 weddings here with more to come!

‘OK, so you get to go to Easton a lot… Why’s that a big deal?’, I hear you ask. Well, the brilliant thing about getting to know a venue inside and out means if on your wedding day the weather gods conspire to chuck a big old curveball, I’m not going to phased or struggle to think of an alternative plan for your photos. I’ve been there and done it all before (but am still waiting for the t-shirt to arrive ;-)). ‘No stress, let’s wait to see if the rain blows through and in the meantime we’ll make some lovely wedding portrait photos here’

Back to Cat & Alex and, well you can see where this is going can’t you… Despite all our hopes and a forecast for dry weather, it absolutely tipped down in that way that leaves you getting wet from every direction! So Plan-B kicked in and we popped into the ceremony barn for what are some pretty lovely photos in the soft window light with a hope of popping outside later on, if the weather improved.

Typically, as guests sat down for the wedding breakfast the rain eased. Cat in particular was extremely keen to make it out to the bridge so, between starter and main course, we nipped out and were able to take the, much hoped for, wedding portrait photos in the grounds. Phew!

Here’s a selection of photographs from the day and scroll down to the bottom of the page for a run down of the truly wonderful suppliers Cat & Alex chose to bring their wedding day plans to life.
