Alpheton Hall Barn Wedding Photographer | Charlotte & Sam

It was a joy to have been asked to photograph Charlotte & Sam’s Alpheton Hall Barn wedding over the summer. Tucked away in the west Suffolk countryside, a stone’s throw from the historic town of Long Melford, it’s a venue I’d long wanted to visit and didn’t disappoint.

It was a joy to have been asked to photograph Charlotte & Sam’s Alpheton Hall Barns wedding over the summer. Tucked away in the west Suffolk countryside, a stone’s throw from the historic town of Long Melford, it’s a venue I’d long wanted to visit and didn’t disappoint.

There’s always a sense of excitement shooting at a venue for the first time. Everything is seen through new eyes and opportunities for photos abound. Having said that, the barns and surrounding grounds offer so many photogenic spots, you’d be hard pressed not to find a setting that works for cracking portraits! I knew Charlotte loved the lace, keyhole back to her Pronovias dress and wanted a couple of spots with soft light to show it to its best. The gardens and little bridge worked like a charm!

There was also a real sense of occasion to the day with the couples choice to marry at Holy Trinity church in Long Melford. The village was once one of the most prosperous areas of England, (due to wool cloth weaving), and it shows in the size and scale of its church, proudly looking over the village. Charlotte and Sam also brought some brilliant suppliers together for their day. It was great to say hi to Sam of Wild Poppies Flowers and catch up with The Sax Walker who was a real hit with guests. Charlotte’s beautiful dress in crepe with lace detailing was by Pronovias from House of Snow bridal boutique. Makeup was by Chloe at Stay Beautiful.

Here’s a selection of photos from their day - glorious, summer sunshine giving way to a balmy evening with smiles, dancing and a brilliant time all round.

As always, if you’re planning your own wedding in Suffolk (or anywhere across East Anglia), why not drop me a line. Let’s have a chat - it would be a honour to be part of your plans.
